Becoming a registered dietitian (already have a bachelors degree)?

Can anyone tell me what my next step would be in this? Don't just quote eatright.org at me, bc my situation is a little complicated. I'm currently a junior at university, graduating with a degree in Psychology, and a minor in criminology. I've had a change of heart or rather a focus...and I would like to become an RD. I'm willing to go to school again seeing as previously I was planning on going to graduate school. I do have some degree in nutrition though-- I've taken 2 semesters in Bio , and 1 chem, and I actually volunteer at the nutrition department in my local hospital. I've read that I don't NEED a degree in nutrition, rather just the coursework for it, and something about CADE... so what's my next step here? More than a little confused.

  1. To become a registered dietitian you have to have the correct courses from a CADE program. If you already have a degree, you could potentially just take the CADE courses so you are eligible for the dietetic internship. Only programs that have CADE accreditation will allow you to apply for a dietetic internship to become an RD. Hope this helps!
