"When push comes to shove nutrition takes a back seat to money"?
Can someone please tell me what this quote means to you because im very confused i just need some opinions and ideas please:) ps. it is in an article called "Noontime Nutrition"

- Taking a back seat means it comes second. What that statement says means people will buy somehting cheap over something that's healthy (because it's more expensive). Which is understandable. I would like ot eat healthier, but many times can't afford to.
- What it means is that eating healthily can cost a LOT more than eating poorly. People who are poor don't WANT to eat pasta and starches every single day, but that's what they can afford. Fresh fruits & veggies and lean cuts of meat and fish are out of the budget when you're barely making ends meet. I grew up on spaghetti and other types of pasta with very little meat or fresh fruits/veggies in the diet because my parents didn't have a lot of money. It's just the way it was.
